Changes to Drink Driving Laws in NSW

If you’re convicted of 2 alcohol-related offences within 5 years, the police can now impose further sanctions such as confiscating number plates at the roadside or impounding your vehicle.
This law previously only applied to what were known as ‘hoon offences’, such as street racing or engaging in a police pursuit. There may be more onerous sanctions if further repeat offences occur.
