Employment Law : Equal Opportunity Issues
Our firm has had experience in relation to appearing for employers before equal opportunity tribunals such as the NSW Anti-Discrimination Board. It is also worth noting that the current Federal Government employment legislation makes provision for what is known as "adverse action" which gives the right to Fair Work Inspectors to take action against an employer if they believe an employer has amongst other things discriminated against an employee. In the past only employees themselves could make such a claim and now it is more important than ever that employers make sure they do not leave themselves liable to possible civil penalties in this regard.
